Click on the Policy section on the bottom left.

Once on the policy page, click on the "Create New Policy" option on the top left.

A popup will appear with several tabs. The ones relevant to creating a basic policy are: Policy Settings and Data Retention.

Under policy settings, ensure that the Enabled check box is selected.

The name of the policy should be the name of the server which is being backed up and the description should contain the name of the owner as well.

The policy should be using the correct agent that is being used to perform the backup as well as the correct disk safe where the backups will be stored.

When creating a new policy you must edit the Replication Schedule to ensure that it runs twice a day. After you click on the Edit Schedule button a popup should appear. Replication Frequency should be set to daily and there should be two checkboxes selected within the 24 hours which are displayed. It is suggested to have them at least a 8+ hours apart to ensure a sufficient amount of time between backups.

Once these changes have been made, click OK to return to the previous screen.

Next, select the Data Retention tab.

Here set the "Number of Recovery Points to Retain" option to 30. This lets the user have the last 30 available backups to restore from.

Once the "Number of Recovery Points to Retain" has been set, click on the "Add Archiving Schedule" button. A popup will appear allowing you to set archive scheduling.

The "Archive Point Limit" should be set to 10 and the "Archive Frequency" should be set to weekly. This creates a weekly backup which will contain the last previous weeks changes.

Select one checkbox from the days available and select a time at which to run the time.

Once these settings have been set, click Ok.

At this point, this is enough to have a functioning backup policy which will backup the server according to the times and dates specified within it.

It is important to note that this is a default Vault Networks policy and is simply a suggested policy to follow. If the user wishes to modify the policy they have the ability to do so following the same steps but modifying the values to their liking.
